Student Leadership Commission
Student leadership is fostered through involvement in the Student Leadership Commission. Our school theme and mission encompass Growing Servant Leaders from the Inside Out. Students in grades 3 – 8 serve as leaders. Only middle school students may serve on the Executive Board. President and Vice President Positions are reserved for students entering eighth grade. Seventh grade students act as the Treasurer and Secretary. Sixth Graders fill the role of Commissioner. All students participate in the activities planned by the Student Leadership Commission. These activities include service projects and spirit-building events. Participation as a leader or representative in Student Leadership Commission is contingent upon academic eligibility and behavioral appropriateness.
Scholastic Bowl
The Saint Anne Scholastic Bowl Team has been developed to harness the intellectual abilities and deepen the skills the students are learning in the classroom. This program is available to the 6th-8th grade students and events are during and after school and on Saturdays at various locations. Practices include skill building in understanding how to breakdown questions, use deductive reasoning, and create relationship with information. The head coach is Mr. Terry Ehardt.
Girls on the Run
Be part of a program that … inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum, which creatively integrates running. Enjoy a celebratory 5k running event at the end.
STEM Robotics
The STEM Robotics Academy is a comprehensive after school program where children design, build, program and learn robotics. Using a creative educational approach that supports Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), this class is led by Chasewood Learning’s teacher-led instruction followed by fun, engaging and dynamic activities.
Chasewood’s Lego Engineering Academy is a STEM after-school enrichment program where children learn and build models based on engineering concepts. Models such as powered cars, cranes, and windmills are examples of Chasewood’s teacher-led instruction followed by fun, engaging and dynamic activities.
Altar Servers
Beginning in 4th grade students are offered the opportunity to become altar servers for St. Anne school and parish masses. This is an opportunity for those who are interested to learn more about the mass structure and how to help the school and church with mass preparation and assistance.
3D Printing and Engineering
St. Anne Parish School has joined the 3D Printing Revolution. Students now have the opportunity to participate in a new after school extra-curricular experience…3D Printing and Engineering Class. This class teaches students how to create Computer Aided Designs (CAD) and then print them in 3D out of plastic. The students learn the engineering process while designing kid friendly items. Students also have the ability to explore and use the software to create their own projects. This program is open to students in grades 4-8.
Chess
Chess Club We are privileged to offer a Saint Anne’s chess program, which is run by the reigning U.S. Champion, Grandmaster Yury Shulman. The program runs after school immediately following school dismissal. It is open to all students. Students are engaged in learning chess, leadership programs, researching and presenting on history and geography related to chess, organizing tournaments, and serving the local community. Chess students are featured periodically in local and national newspapers, if they wish.
Sticky Fingers Cooking
Allows young chefs to:
- Explore new tastes – all fresh and globally inspired.
- Learn culinary skills.
- Nourish their bodies and minds.
All tools, ingredients and expert chef instructor provided. We come to you!
Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is a reading program designed to encourage children to read and give recognition to those who do like to read. The program is open to students in 2nd - 5th grades. Students will be able to form their own teams. If a student would like to be on a team, but cannot come up with a team, teacher moderators will try to put some groups of students together that are short a team member. Team will have 3 to 5 members.
